Dont waste food

One of the suggestions from Bhasmu for posters to reduce food wastage in the mess:

Dada mala ek bahini aan...

Me and Bhasmu are the marathi members of the group and Pinky has tried hard to make us stop taking in marathi. This has not stopped Pinky herself from catching on the marathi songs Bhasmu listens to. We tend to make her repeat marathi kids songs, which she repeats after us very sweetly without any clue of what she is singing. This time it was, "Gori gori paan, phoola sarkhi chan, dada mala ek vahini aan" which means, "Brother please get me a fair sister-in-law who is nice like a flower". Pinky repeated it as, "Gori gori paan, phoola sarkhi chan, dada mala ek bahini aan". Where bahini means "Sisters". Poor brother, with sisters like Pinky he will never get a sister-in-law :P

Dostana

Guess what a friend did on her trip to Kashi... Watched Dostana movie in a theatre. One pilgrimage huh.

Hall-4 canteen Maggie

Maggie ordered in hall-4 canteen ..tick tick tick ... no maggie yet.. a restless hungry soul (name- hyper) goes to the canteen incharge to ask its status .. The reply,"Madam yeh T.V. wali maggie nahi hai jo 2 min mein bann jaye"...lolz

Bhasmus maun resolution

Declares: I will observe maun (silence) for a day.
Exception1. I will talk to lab mates only... work always comes first
Problem 1. How will I call anyone if need be?
Solution...TADA... I will talk only 3 times
Ponders for a while... Dumps the whole idea :D

The Dance saga

The other day we were watching video songs at tea time on you-tube. As the song "Banke tera Jogi" from the movie, 'Phir bhi dil hai hindustani' was going on, one of us suddenly had the urge to try a dance step in it. It involved a jump, a full 360 degree turn in air and you have to return to the same position on landing. I opted out of this venture as I cannot dance to save my life and this one looked rather complicated, but bhasmu got dragged into it. She is usually enthusiastic about trying out everything. Guess how bhasmu completes the task, she takes a start up to give herself momentum hopping on the spot 3-4 times before jumping. Of course she completed the step and all of us were rolling on the floor laughing... she had turned the dance into a gymnastics event :)

The search comittee

These days I find myself getting involved with anything that has the suffix committee to it. One of the latest was "the search committee". In an unfortunate incident there was a laptop stolen from our hostel. This happened so quickly that people believed that the laptop had to be in the hostel itself. Following this a search committee was formed on the spot to check the rooms. I have no idea how I became a part of it. Searching someones room is a rather unpleasant experience, irrespective of whether you know the person or not. I found myself entering a room and asking a girl,"Excuse me, A hostel was stolen from our laptop and we are searching all rooms for it"...
